Exploring Felt-making with Fibres and Fabrics

Felt-making workshop for all especially beginners held in Phinefibre’s studio at the Birchcliffe Centre Hebden Bridge. Discover the many ways of working with and felting fibres and fabrics. Lots of samples to look at and mull over followed by a practical demonstration. Then make one or two textural pictorial – seascape, landscape or abstract felted peices. Select from a wide choice of gorgeous coloured wools and plant fibres. Explore mixing different colours and types of fibres together. Embed wool, yarns, silk and fabrics into the felted surface to create texture and form. Event photo is of student felt-work.
Small class. Suitable for all. An abundance of wool, plant fibres, yarns, natural and synthetic fabrics will all be supplied.
£48 includes materials and use of all equipment.

Discover how to make an adorable dog or cat by needle felting bundles of wool fibres. Learn how to create different forms and shapes to bring your pet to life.
Finishing by adding ears, eyes and a nose. Bring along a photo of your pet, if you would like to make a replica that needs no feeding or walking! Or create your own fantasy or cartoon style dog or cat. Small class. Suitable for all especially beginners.
